Abstract

Caliban's work is a rupture in the way of thinking about culture and politics. The theoretical issue generated by the Cuban revolution is expressed in the link between anti-colonialism and anti-imperialism, both in the context of the 1970s and in the revision of the past. That is why, more than rounding up on that work, we would like to raise a possibility of understanding its path: the texts that Roberto Fernandez Retamar elaborated around V.I Lenin and, to a lesser extent, that of Ho-Chi-Minh in relation to Jose Marti. We maintain that Fernádez Retamar carried out a symptomatic reading of Martí, discovering in his writing a theoretical-political space that was spliced with those of Marxism.
