A VARIAÇÃO DA CONCORDÂNCIA VERBAL NO PORTUGUÊS FALADO EM CACHOEIRINHA – PE

Abstract

Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar a variação da Concordância Verbal (CV) através de uma pesquisa de campo realizada na comunidade de fala cachoeirinhense. Este estudo está fundamentado na proposta teórico-metodológica da Sociolinguística Variacionista (LABOV, 2008 [1972]) que considera e estuda a heterogeneidade da língua dentro da comunidade de fala. O corpus pesquisa foi constituído por 36 informantes, entrevistados de maneira informal, a fim de se aproximar de uma conversa espontânea, evitando o monitoramento da fala por parte dos informantes. Utilizamos o Goldvarb X (2005) para a rodada de dados; esse programa computacional apresenta os resultados em termos percentuais e em peso relativo, apontando se as variáveis escolhidas são estatisticamente significativas ou não para a ocorrência da variante em estudo. As variáveis sociais selecionadas para este trabalho foram o sexo, a escolaridade e a faixa etária; e para as variáveis linguísticas, o paralelismo formal e a saliência fônica. Das variáveis mencionadas, apenas a variável sexo foi descartada pelo programa por não ser estatisticamente significativa para a ocorrência da marcação da CV. Constatamos que há fatores linguísticos e sociais que influenciam na ocorrência do fenômeno linguístico em estudo. Esperamos, portanto, que o nosso trabalho proporcione uma melhor compreensão acerca da variação da CV, que contribua para a sua sistematização na comunidade de fala cachoeirinhense e que amplie o escopo de pesquisa do Grupo de Estudos em Análise e Descrição Linguística (CNPq/UPE).

ABSTRACT: This article aims to analyze the variation of Verbal Concordance (CV) through a field research carried out in the cachoeirinhense speech community. This study is based on the theoretical-methodological proposal of Variationist Sociolinguistics (LABOV, 2008 [1972]) that considers the heterogeneity of language and studies it within the speech community. The corpus of this research was constituted by 36 informants, who were interviewed informally, in order to get closer to a spontaneous conversation, avoiding the informants' speech monitoring. As it is a quantitative analysis, Goldvarb X (2005) was used for the data round; This computer program presents the results in percentage terms and relative weight, indicating whether the chosen variables are statistically significant or not for the occurrence of the variant under study. The social variables selected for this study were gender, education and age group; and for linguistic variables, formal parallelism and phonic salience. Of the mentioned variables, only the gender variable was discarded by the program because it was not statistically significant for the occurrence of CV marking. Thus, we found that there are linguistic and social factors that influence the occurrence of the linguistic phenomenon under study. We hope, therefore, that our work provides a better understanding of the variation of verbal agreement, contributes to its systematization in the cachoeirinhense speech community and broadens the research scope of the Study Group on Analysis and Linguistic Description (CNPq / UPE).
