Abstract

 

The emergence of bitcoin in 2008 made possible a new way of dealing with the monetary system, because its technology and innovative way of working stimulates a digital reality for the future. Along these lines, the current scenario of cryptocurrency regulation in Brazil is delayed in relation to other countries in the world. PL 4401/21, approved in the Federal Senate and destined for the Chamber of Deputies for analysis and voting, is a positive regulation for the operation of virtual currencies. It is a non-invasive project, focusing on the inspection of exchanges, as well as the prevention of money laundering and other crimes associated with cryptocurrencies. In this way, this work will address the topic of bitcoin as a cryptocurrency, its origin and functioning, also analyze the regulation of this market, observing the positive and negative impacts that this regulation will have on digital currencies, making a comparative analysis with the other countries that already regulated this financial segment. Finally, we will analyze how this market innovation impacts the daily lives of Brazilians, also demonstrating the trust and acceptance of bitcoin by the Brazilian population. It was concluded that with the advancement of information becoming more accessible, the subject of cryptocurrencies has attracted the attention of a good part of society and consequently increased its value as an alternative of financial reserve.

Professor no Centro Universitário da Grande Dourados (UNIGRAN), na Universidade Federal da Grande Dourados (UFGD) e na Universidade Estadual de Mato Grosso do Sul (UEMS).
