THE VARIABLE EXPRESSION OF THE VERBAL FUTURE IN THE LANGUAGE SPOKEN IN CAPOEIRAS - PE

Abstract

O presente trabalho é um recorte do TCC do primeiro autor desta pesquisa. A pesquisa trata-se de um estudo sobre a variável da expressão do futuro verbal na fala de Capoeirenses - PE, cujo objetivo é analisar se, na comunidade de fala em tela, há maior ocorrência no uso de futuro simples (FS) ou futuro perifrástico (FP) e descrever quais fatores linguísticos e extralinguísticos favorecem a construção verbal de futuro. Para tanto, foram controlados fatores linguísticos e extralinguísticos que podem motivar o uso da perífrase (IR+infinitivo), são eles: paradigma verbal (verbos regulares e irregulares), conjugação verbal (verbos de 1º, 2º e 3º conjugação) e tempo verbal (pretérito imperfeito perifrástico, futuro do pretérito perifrástico, futuro do presente perifrástico, presente com projeção do futuro perifrástico, futuro do presente, futuro do pretérito e presente com marcas de futuro); e, como variáveis extralinguísticas: escolaridade (médio e superior), faixa etária (15-30/31-45/46-62) e sexo (homem/mulher). Nosso estudo está embasado na perspectiva teórico-metodológico da Sociolinguística Variacionista (LABOV, 2008 [1972]) e em discussões relacionadas ao futuro verbal (FIGUEIREDO, 2015; TESCH, 2011 e GIBBON, 2000). Para o desenvolvimento desta pesquisa, foi elaborado um corpus, mediante a coleta de recortes de fala espontânea de informantes residentes na cidade de Capoeiras-PE, o que corresponde a 36 entrevistas. As falas foram gravadas por meio de gravadores digitais e os dados foram codificados para uma análise estatística e probabilística, utilizando o programa GOLDVARB X (2005). Diante dos resultados fornecidos pelo software, concluímos que os falantes da comunidade de fala de Capoeiras – PE tendem a utilizar com maior frequência a forma do futuro perifrástico.

ABSTRACT: The present work is an excerpt from the TCC of the first author of this research. The research is a study on the variable of the expression of the verbal future in the speech of Capoeirenses - PE, whose objective is to analyze if, in the community of speech on screen, there is a greater occurrence in the use of simple future (FS) or peripheral future (FP) and describe which linguistic and extralinguistic factors favor the verbal construction of the future. For that, linguistic and extralinguistic factors that can motivate the use of periphrasis (IR + infinitive) were controlled, they are: verbal paradigm (regular and irregular verbs), verbal conjugation (verbs of 1st, 2nd and 3rd conjugation) and verb tense ( Peripheral past imperfect, future of the peripheral past, future of the peripheral present, present with projection of the future peripheral, future of the present, future of the past and present with marks of the future); and, as extralinguistic variables: education (middle and higher), age group (15-30 / 31-45 / 46-62) and sex (man / woman). Our study is based on the theoretical-methodological perspective of Variationist Sociolinguistics (LABOV, 2008 [1972]) and on discussions related to the verbal future (FIGUEIREDO, 2015; TESCH, 2011 and GIBBON, 2000). For the development of this research, a corpus was elaborated, through the collection of spontaneous speech clippings from informants living in the city of Capoeiras-PE, which corresponds to 36 interviews. The statements were recorded using digital recorders and the data were coded for statistical and probabilistic analysis, using the program GOLDVARB X (2005). In view of the results provided by the software, we conclude that the speakers of the Capoeiras - PE speech community tend to use the form of the peripheral future more frequently.
