Abstract

After the victory of Luís Inácio Lula da Silva, from the Workers' Party, in 2022, it is observed that the voter's vote in the city of Natal/RN has oscillated between right- and left-wing candidates over the last few elections. With a brief cyclicality, the pattern of permanence and impermanence of the voter is much closer to the conditions of acceptance and denial of the PT. In this path, the present article aims to analyze the electoral behavior in the capital city of Natal, based on the territorial context of the vote, in the last six presidential elections (2002-2022). For this, we sought to spatialize the results of elections in Natal/RN through the identification and location of votes by electoral districts and the socioeconomic conditions of citizens in their territories. These data made it possible to think about spatial reasons that might explain the choice of a particular political representative.
