Abstract

From the understanding that the literary text is built through the circulation of historical, political and cultural elements produced under the vigilance of the multiple relations developed among the individuals, in a certain time and place, the present study objectifies to analyses the novel Los Detectives Selvajes (1998), from Chilean writer Roberto Bolaño (1953-2003), taken as a representative artist of the main changes presented by the Spanish language contemporary literature, in the ambivalent space that comprehends Spain and Latin America, specially, when it comes to the elegy’s pleasure in the Latin-American context. Thus, based on the discussion of themes related to life, to experience, to grief, to melancholy, death and game, this work is supported by the historic-comparative method, taking in consideration the profound observation of phenomenons, processes and relations that build the reality and the fictional environment of the narrative in evidence. Therefore, motived by the reading and the analysis of the featured novel, the survey talks, in certain circumstances, with different areas of knowledge, such as history, mythology, philosophy and psychoanalysis, in order to comprehend the several literature ways to communicate with other languages, and therefore, discuss which way the literary writing is capable of thematize the human condition, in this author’s specific case, that, like a defeated hero, feeds his speech in the remains of latin american genealogy.
