Memórias, corpos e resistências: perspectivas decoloniais na literatura brasileira contemporânea

Abstract: Contemporary literature has been a space for dissonant voices, both in regard to the revisional aspect of the past as an alternative discourse to what is conventionally called history, as well as to the questioning of the remaining paradigms engendered by modernity, problematizing the forms imposed by the rationalist and universalizing epistemes even from their foundations. In the last decades of Brazilian literature, it is possible to observe the thematic incidence about the past and its heritage. Their forms, confronted by memory, lay bare the direct and devastating effects of power relations and their policies, which are refracted in bodies that do not inhabit, bodies that do not occupy, bodies that do not belong. From this perspective, Conceição Evaristo's Becos da Memória, Carola Saavedra's O Inventário das Coisas Ausentes, and Itamar Vieira Junior's Torto Arado can be put into dialogue as poetics that, inscribed by the memory-image-report triangle, thematize the transition from vulnerability to resistance. By analyzing some of the narrative strategies that these works have in common, the objective here is to observe the importance of the figuration of the body in the composition of memory, which is a fundamental discourse to the Decolonial Studies for the re/de/trans/formation of the present body and the prospection of new realities.
